Market Development Associate at Mashery in San Francisco, CA

Job Summary

Mashery is looking for a high-energy and talented individual to make an immediate impact and join our early stage, yet world-class sales team. You must be someone who is driven and a self-starter who will thrive in reviewing, processing, and qualifying HUNDREDS of prospects into leads for Mashery’s solution. 

The ideal candidate is someone who has experience in processing market development opportunities into leads and who thrives on outreach to prospects via multiple channels, phone calls & emails. You MUST be comfortable on the phone and making 30+ calls a day in order to achieve target. If you don’t have this background you will need to convince us that you have the ability to learn about Mashery quickly and become productive in a short amount of time.

You must be the type of person who enjoys working independently at times as well as in a small team.  You must thrive on a challenge; enjoy a fast paced researching and prospecting environment, all while pushing yourself to meet your goals.

Job Details & Skills you'll need to succeed

  • Strength and persistence in identifying, researching and qualifying each lead opportunity.
  • Comfortable and confident in positioning a ROI solution that will cost our customers more than $50,000 per year.
  • Confident in demonstrating the value propositions of our products and services to a diverse audience.
  • Proactively and regularly manage the hundreds of prospects in Salesforce.com, ensuring processing all opportunities efficiently and accurately.
  • Aggressive follow through, follow-up and commitment.
  • Perform at 110% to achieve your quarterly quota of web meetings generated.
  • Dig in and be hands on in learning our product and services.

Background/Requirements

  • Prior lead generation or sales experience preferred although those that have a compelling pitch as to why they would be successful in this role will be strongly considered.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, commitment, and consistent overachievement of goals.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
  • You communicate effectively both internally and externally and adjust to a diverse audience.
  • Strength in building relationships along with comfortable to demonstrate Mashery initial value to a diverse audience from business champion, technical teams, to possible C-level executives.

Additional Desired Traits/Skills

  • Salesforce.com expertise
  • Technically savvy and an expert user of current web/online communication technologies, including browsers, search, email, instant messaging, and forums.
  • Interest and preferred knowledge of new and emerging web/online communication technologies, such as RSS, blogs, social networks, etc.
  • Knowledge of online marketing techniques, technologies, and media.
  • Flexible and desire to learn and overachieve goals.
  • Positive attitude, ambitious, and a passion for building a valuable business.
  • Flexible and adaptable with a hunger to “win.”

Education

  • BA/BS degree required.
  • Coursework or focus in Business, Marketing, eCommerce studies, MIS or Computer Science a plus.
